Staff
Julie is originally from Rochester, New York. She received a BS degree in Forensic Chemistry from Ohio University, and a
Master of Arts with an emphasis in Christian Teaching and Formation from Wesley Theological Seminary. In addition, she
is a certified Christian Educator and Diaconal Minister. Julie has been working in the area of Christian Education for
over 15 years and has been at CUMC since 2004. Married to Rev. Stephen Tisinger, pastor af Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian
Church, Julie enjoys scrapbooking and being a mom to her two young daughters and two grown step-children.
Philip is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degree in education from the
University of Memphis. He earned his specialty license in school administration from Arkansas State University. He has a love for music and sports. His wife, Kristy is a pediatric nurse in Annapolis. He has experience working with youth and young
adults in both the Church field as well as private and public schools. His grown children both live in Annapolis and are
active in leading in the Youth Ministry.
Originally from East Bend, North Carolina, Mr. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Furman
University in Greenville, South Carolina in 2005. While at Furman, he served as Choirmaster to Saint Matthew United Methodist
Church. In May 2008, Scott earned a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Literature from the University of Colorado
where he was the assistant conductor of the University Singers from 2005-2008. For the duration of his master's degree
program he served as choirmaster to Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church, a university-based parish. During his second year in
Boulder, Scott established the Saint Aidan's Recital Series, which was host to more than 200 musicians and featured guest
performers from the university and beyond. Since 2003, Scott has spent his summers teaching choirs at the North Carolina
Governor's School in Winston-Salem, NC and in 2006 was promoted to Choral Music Instructor. In addition to conducting, Mr.
Taylor maintains an active life as a performing baritone in opera, oratorio and recital. As a scholar, Scott has produced and
published numerous performing and critical editions of choral music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Early American/Moravian,
and Late Romantic traditions. Scott enjoys hiking, writing, cooking, and above all, fly-fishing. Scott joined the staff at
Calvary in October 2008.
Marilyn grew up in Towson, MD. She has a BS degree in Elementary Education from Towson University. Her teaching experience
began in Carroll County Public Schools and, then after taking time off to be home Before becoming Calvary Center School's
director in July 2005, Marilyn taught in schools for 15 years teaching three year old through kindergarten classes. She lives
in Arnold with her husband and youngest son. Her other two married children also live in Arnold. In her leisure hours,
Marilyn enjoys cooking and spending time with her three young grandchildren.

Pam was born in Baltimore and raised in Arnold. She graduated from Western Maryland College with a Bachelor's degree in
Biology and from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Computer Science. Pam enjoys spending time with her husband,
Rob and their three children Jathan, Keith and Stacy. She likes kayaking, hiking and spending time outdoors.
Karen was born in Brooklyn NY, and has lived in Anne Arundel County for 35 years. She and her husband Bobby were married on
March 26, 2010 - the 16th anniversary of their first date. Karen's family includes her son Tony, her stepson Scott, and three grandchildren. In her free
time, Karen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, camping with her friends, and attending family functions. Karen is
in the office M-F from 1:00-5:00pm. In addition to her other office duties, Karen is the editor of the Chronicle.
