Gifts of Grace Ministries for our Congregation


We are blessed to be a blessing. Therefore we offer these gifts to you so that having asked you shall receive and know God's grace working through your brothers and sisters of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Call these ministry leaders with your requests or to join their ministries

Spiritual Ministries:

Hospital and nursing home visitation: Contact Rev Kenan Habetler 410-573-1926 or 443-223-1407.  

Prayer Warriors: Let us pray for you daily in our homes and in the sanctuary. Contact Marilyn Leek 410-224-2642.  

Physical Ministries:

Good Samaritan Ministries: We prepare and deliver hot meals to church members who have just returned home from a hospital stay. If you can use our assistance or If you can help with cooking or delivery please contact Tom or Marge Bechert.

Heavenly Honey Doers: Our ministry is to bring you the gift of a handy person to help you with those repairs that don’t require a licensed contractor, but are just not possible for you to accomplish. A few are: change out a wall plug or switch, replace a furnace filter or a light bulb that requires a ladder, fix a drip or a running toilet. Techies: The youth of Calvary know all about setting up your new TV, DVD, VCR, and how to get that flashing 12:00 to stop and put in the real time. Also help with answer machines, resetting clocks and replacing batteries. Call Philip Cantrell at 410-268-6035 or email “Philip” .

Bread Ministry: We welcome visitors with an invitation to return to worship and participate in our church’s ministries by delivering home baked bread. Contact Betty Hepler 410-263-5370.

Meals for New Moms: We bring meals to new mothers. Call Barbara Yannon 410-266-3054.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: In the spirit of helping others, the Prayer Shawl Ministry recently mailed more than two dozen prayer shawls, friendship blankets and baby items to Joplin, Missouri. We sent our offering to the First United Methodist Church in Joplin which was also the FEMA headquarters during the aftermath of the tornadoes.
